Combiz Rezayat, MD
The Cardiovascular Care Group proudly welcomes Dr. Combiz Rezayat to the organization. Dr. Rezayat completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at New York and Presbyterian Hospitals of Cornell and Columbia University in June 2010. He was a General Surgery Resident at Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University from 2003-2008 after his graduation from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 2003. He was raised in California where he attended the University of California-Irvine earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1997.
Dr. Rezayat brings advanced skills in endovascular management of lower extremity arterial occlusive disease to The Group. He has published on the use of percutaneous atherectomy for management of lower extremity ischemia. He also has written about the appropriate treatment of asymptomatic carotid artery occlusive disease and has authored works on ruptured aneurysms. Dr. Rezayat is well versed in the endovascular management of complicated aortic aneurysms.
He brings to The Group a fresh look with new techniques in the current management of peripheral vascular disease. The increased reliance on less invasive procedures requires continual reassessment of techniques measuring them against newer methods—some of which become “fads”! His strong clinical background affords him the opportunity to evaluate management modalities in a balanced manner.
Dr. Rezayat’s outside interests include painting, traveling and sports. He enjoys acrylics and is an accomplished artist having gained recognition for his works. Most importantly, he and his wife Marissa, are the proud parents of a baby boy born this Spring. Marissa recently completed her residency in Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center in New York where she currently practices.
