Michael Pontoriero, MD

Michael Pontoriero, MD joined the practice in 1993. Dr. Pontoriero obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He completed his fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at UMDNJ Medical School and serves as Chief of the Department of Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at Clara Maass Hospital.  He was President of the Medical Staff at St. Barnabas Healthcare System - Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville in 2007 and 2008. He serves on the executive board of the New Jersey Society of Thoracic Surgeons as Secretary/Treasurer. He is also a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.
